Ham Ham FC Sack Head Coach

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

Ham Ham FC, the Serekunda West second division team, has finally sacked its Head coach.

Ebrima Cham Joof alias Lukay was sacked last week following the team poor performance in the ongoing GFA second division league.

Speaking to Pointsport at his office in Bakau, Mr. Alieu Jeng, Executive Secretary of the Ham Ham FC, said that the sacking of coach Lukay came from the board of the club.

He explained that around July-August 2006 in Norway a meeting was held between the technical staff and the administration.  It was on that meeting that coach Lukay presented the 2004-2005 football season, highlighting his constrains and possible areas of reinforcing the team and the motivation for the players.

Mr. Jeng added that the board agreed to meet the entire request outlined by coach Lukay.

According to him the board also made an appeal to coach lukay that if the team fails to make it at the top of the second division league in the first round of the league then he will be given matching out order and both parts agreed on the proposal.

"Ham Ham could not climb at the top of the league table in the first rounds of the competitions due to their poor performance loosing five matches in a row," Mr. Jeng revealed.

He pointed out that George Lobba, former Wallidan and Scorpions goalkeeper, was appointed to take over the team and will be assisted by a coaching staff.

Alieu Jeng used the opportunity to thank Lukay for his efforts towards the team and blamed the players for the failure.
