As Body of another found in Dippa Kunda

It has been brought to the attention of this paper that a newborn baby was yesterday morning found abandoned at Tallinding Sicap. The baby girl was reportedly found deserted in a card box. Residents of the area expressed shock at the sorrowful spectacle, saying that it is uncalled-for.

“Such an inhuman act is becoming rampant in this country, particularly here in Tallinding. I think something needs to be done to put a stop to these types of unfortunate occurrences. People should be vigilant and report such brutal deeds to the police,” said one Amie Ceesay.

Meanwhile the child, reported to be in good health at the time of going to press, is under the care of hospital authorities.

In a separate but similar development, The Point has also been reliably informed that one Aminata Gaye of Dippa Kunda was arrested on Tuesday for abandoning her newly born baby girl. The baby was found dead behind a compound in Dippa Kunda.

Ms Gaye, who is in police custody helping with the investigation, was also accused of deserting her newly born baby in a card box, leaving her to die unattended.
