In a bid to complement government efforts in providing quality health service delivery to Gambians, Karim and Patrick, two Belgian nationals recently donated medical items worth over thousands of Dalasi to Tanji Health Centre in Kombo South.
The donation was made possible through their Gambian counterpart, Moses Camara. The medical items included two operation tables, beds, matresses, a computer and generator.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Ajay Janneh, Chief of Kombo South, thanked Karim and Patrick for the wonderful guesture. He said that the items will go a long way towards improving the health standards of the community of Tanji.
He therefore called on the community of Tanji to properly take care of the items.
Cherno Bojang, Alkalo of Tanji village, described the donation as another plus to President Jammeh’s efforts to provide quality health care for all Gambians.
He thanked the sponsors for their kindness.
Fatou Drammeh, who spoke on behalf of the women of Tanji, described the donation of the items as timely.
Other speakers at the ceremony expressed similar sentiment.
The programme attended by several women, was punctuated with clapping and dancing.
