The trial of one Gibriel Camara, who’s accused of having made an attempt to rape one Jonkong Badjie, recently got off to a start at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.
Testifying in the case before magistrate E.F. MBai, 1st C Constable 1290 Omar Bah cast his mind back to May of this year when ‘Gibril was brought to Yundum police station’ by some soldiers from the 1st infantry battalion.
According to officer Bah, Gibriel was accompanied to the station by Jonkong, who alleged that the accused had made an attempt to force her into having sex with him.
"At the station, the soldiers produced a knife that was found in his possession. He was consequently charged and voluntary statement obtained from him," Bah recounted.
Meanwhile, the knife was tendered in court, admitted as a piece of evidence and marked as an exhibit.
The trial continues.
