Malang Tamba, an ex-employee of the Gambia Post Office, was last Wednesday arraigned at the Banjul Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing over D80,000 from his former employer.

According to the charge sheet as read before magistrate George, Tamba on or about 3 January 2007, stole D84,300 from Gampost.

However, he could not enter a plea because, according to him, he was only informed of his court appearance when he reported to Banjul police station on bail.

The case was consequently adjourned to allow him secure a counsel as requested.
