Play Burkina Saturday

The Gambia National U-17 team, yesterday afternoon, drew 1-1 with Niger U-17 in the opening game of the four- nation tournament in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
According to reports monitored by Pointsport on West Coast Radio, the Gambia dominated the entire first half, missing lot of chances.
The reports revealed that the Gambia had 90% of the shares in the first 45 minutes but could not capitalise on the scoring chances.

Sainey Sambou alias Ballack, Ebou Bojang, Domingo Manneh and Captain Paul Jatta alias Apapa could not register their name on the score sheet despite numerous chances.
Meanwhile Niger came back in the game in the second half and opened the scores in 50th minute through Chaka Abdoulaye.

The goal gave more encouragement to Niger, pushing them to go for the second goal.
Their option was short lived when Ebou Bojang netted the equaliser for The Gambia in the 60th minutes.
Both teams fought well looking for a second goal but their options hit rocks as both defenses watched carefully.

In the second game yesterday, host Ivory Coast drew 0-0 with Burkina Faso.
Meanwhile the Gambia would return to action on Saturday August 11, 2007 against Burkina Faso at 16pm while Niger will play Ivory Coast at 14pm.
