According to reliable sources, Mr Alagie Abdoulie Cham, Managing Director of Gamcel, has been fired with immediate effect. Mr Cham has been serving as Managing Director since the inception of Gambia’s first cellular phone company in 2000.

Mr Cham has been replaced by Pierre Cherry as acting Managing Director. Mr Cherry was hitherto the Administrative Director of GAMCEL.
