Company Ten FC, one of the formidable clubs in the country’s First Division Female League are seeking assistance from any institution to enable them elevate the statues of the team.
Company Ten which registered with the country’s football governing body six years back, have arguably been a house-hold name in female football in the Gambia due as they have registered a conspicuous success since the inception of the Female League. As five-time female league champions, Company Ten can also boost of an FA Cup title and a super-cup title.
In an interview with Observer Sports, Yusupha Savage, an executive member of the club said that the Queen club currently needs funds to procure some football gears as the 2006/07 season draws nearer. “We also want to embark on a nation-wide tour to sensitise the people, particularly the female on the importance of women participation in sports,” he said.
Delving into the primary aims of the club, Mr Savage said: “We aim to promote women participation in sports. This will help them engage into gainful activities so that they can become good members of the society. The club further aims to ensure that female footballgathers momentum in the country.”
