Ansu Sowe, others prepare for 2008 Olympic Games

The Gambian Number One marathoner, Ansu Sowe and Bakary Jabbi, are currently in Kenya, undergoing intensive training, ahead of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

A respectable performance from the duo and other Gambian athletes in the Commonwealth Games held in Melbourne, Australia, led to the award of scholarships to the duo to prepare for the next Olympic Games.
The duo are training in the Kep Keino Training Centre, a renowned athletics training arena in Kenya.

Another Gambian athlete, Jaysuma Saidy-Ndure is also in Norway with a private coach preparing for the same 2008 Games.

Two more Gambian athletes; in the persons of Isaac Jones and Sulayman Bah are listed for the 2012 scholarship programme, while efforts are been made to place Jones in an institute in Australia.
