The University of The Gambia is pleased to announce the arrival of six American Students from St Mary’s College, Maryland (SMCM) in the USA.

The students-two females and four males arrived in The Gambia last Thursday and are expected to stay in The Gambia up to July 2007.

While in The Gambia, they will attend courses at the University of The Gambia for 1 full Semester along with Gambian students. They will also be taught on basic language and communication skills of The Gambia, social and cultural etiquette, physical and social geography and service learning. They will also travel to provincial areas of the country to enhance their learning experience.

This cross-cultural educational exchange is made possible by and in accordance with the joint cooperation between the University of The gambia and St Mary’s College, Maryland. The University of The Gambia is planning to send one of its students to St Mary’s College on full scholarship for 1 Semester in the upcoming weeks. A worthy Gambian student has already been selected for this wonderful opportunity.

The office of International Affairs and Information for the University of The Gambia is working hard in developing international cooperation, as well as national links for the UTG.

UTG warmly welcome these students and callsed upon the university population and the general public to embrace these students to help make their stay in The Gambia pleasant, memorable and productive.
