Ousman Janneh, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Freelance Numerator Data Collectors Association (FEDCA), a registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in The Gambia, has said that his association has made a significant success since its inception in 2006.

Mr Janneh, accompanied by Ousainou Mbaye, treasurer of the said association, disclosed to the Daily Observer that his association aims to bring together numerators in The Gambia and beyond in order to forster their efforts towards quality data collection. He said there is a need to relate with relevant registered organisations, with the view to not only attain the defined goals, but to encourage and enhance the spirit of togetherness amongst the FEDCA’s members. He also underlined that FEDCA is meant to create field work, social interactions and promote mutual trust, respect and understanding with other organisations, as well as offer employment opportunities to potential numerators.

Speaking on the importance of FEDCA, Mr. Janneh noted that the association is professionally-oriented, noting that the Central Bureau of Statistics (former Department of State for Statistics) and other professional data organisations are their collaborators.

He then revealed that his association offer professional and quality data collection services to the public on contract basis, like any other chartered organisations in The Gambia.
