Ousman Koli, Steve Biko’s central defender is unarguably the most local player doing wonders at the start of the GFA First Division league.

Koli’s performance in his first two matches has been so magnificent that his name remains on the lips of many football enthusiasts. The versatile player who can aslo function as central midfielder helped Gambia win the first-ever CAF U-17 title in 2005.

Koli, 19, was invited to the Scorpions’ camp ahead of Gambia’s crucial Nations’ Cup tie against Guinea on Saturday, March 24. While he was pleased with his sudden invitation, many pundits believe Ousman Koli should form the bedrock of The Gambia’s U-20 team in the forthcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada.
