An ex-employee of Palais De Chocolate, Kebba Kongira, is seeking redress through the law court for restitution of D25, 000, 15% interest and other benefits.

Kongira recently told the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court that he was an employee of Palais De Chocolate on Kairaba Avenue until January of last year when his index finger got cut-off whilst working with the ice-cream mixing machine.

“But to make the matter worse, my employer refused to contribute any money to my treatment and has not been paying me my monthly salary,” Kongira informed the court.

But in his version, the proprietor and manager of Palais De Chocolate, Mr. Deltroy Pitt, posited that he had earlier on made an attempt to recompense Kongira but Kongira turned down the offer.

He added that Kongira was also paid his salaries and given all the necessary support to enable him convalesces. The case continues.
