From around the globe

Here is how the story goes. I was beginning my senior year in high school while living in Germany thanks to the US Army. I knew that at the end of the year I would be moving back to Louisiana where the rest of my family lives.
My parents would still have another year left in Germany. So, I decided to jump on the internet and try to meet people in the area where I would be living. I figured that if I could have a few online friends for a year, I wouldn't be so lonely when I finally made the trip back home.

There, on the internet in a personal ad, I met several people. One being a guy named Chris... just a year older than me and he was starting his freshmen year in college. My purpose was to just have friends, not find love. We talked about lots of things. He had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend, so it wasn't romantic. It was funny because I had answered his ad and then not long after out first few emails, he answered an ad that I had put up. We thought it was a little ironic that we answered each others personal ad. Anyways, we remained online friends for the whole year.

We had planned on finally meeting once I moved back to town. He wanted to meet at the airport, but I was too nervous. Besides, my brother and his new wife were picking my up. I hadn't seen my brother in a few years and had never met my sister-in-law. So, we decided that another time would be best.

A few months later, I finally gave him a call for the first time. He asked if I wanted to go over and watch movies or something... just to hang out. I said sure. We had never met face to face at this point so I was really nervous.

I sat there with butterflies in my stomach as he pulled up. I could hear him, but I didn't get up to peek. My mom taught me to wait for the guy to come to the door and knock like a gentleman. He did. We were a little shy, but made conversation. We got back to his apartment and his roommate was home. So, we popped in a movie, Blade to be exact.
I realized that there was a little spark there and we sat with our knees touching. He realized it, too. Slowly, but surely, we got a little more comfortable and had our first kiss. A few hours after our first meeting, we were a couple. We've been a couple ever since. Today, we are celebrating our one year marriage anniversary.... We have been together as a couple for a little over three years and couldn't be happier, until we start having children, of course.

Three Years Together... WOW
