The five elected Gambian Parliamentarian representatives to the Pan-African Parliament session are currently in Midrand, South Africa.
According to reports from the National Assembly, the delegation included Fabakary Tombong Jatta, Majority leader and member for Serrekunda West, Mama Kandeh, National Assembly member for Jimara, Abdoulie Kanagi Jawla, National Assembly member for Sandu, Bintading Jarjue, National Assembly member for Foni Brefet and Sedia Jatta, National Assembly member.
The Pan-African Parliament commenced its first sitting in 2007 from May 7 and will end on May 18.
Similarly, the Ecowas Community Parliament (ECP) in Abuja, Nigeria also commenced its first session in 2007 from the 14 to the 29 May 2007.
According to the release, The Gambia is being represented by five other members namely Honourable Sulayman Joof, National Assembly member for Serrekunda East, Alhagie Momodou Sanneh, Minority leader and member for Kiang West, Momodou Sellu Bah, National Assembly member for Basse, Haddy Nyang-Jagne, National Assembly member for Jeshwang and Abdoulie Suku Singhateh, National Assembly member for Lower Baddibou.
The detailed report on the outcomes of each of the above meetings in Indonesia, South Africa and Nigeria shall be presented to parliament at the next meeting of the National Assembly in the 2007 legislative year slated for the 4th to the 15th June 2007, the release concluded.
