Aja Nanding Camara, mother to the first accused person in the ongoing alleged Britain murder case Dawda Bojang and Kawsu Jarju, yesterday testified before Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Kanifing Magistrate court.

In her testimony before the court, Mrs. Camara, who is the third defence, is a native of Ginack Village and a businesswoman, told the court that the first accused, Dawda Bojang is her son.

She told the court that some time in 2002, Pateh Bah, Musa Mboob both police investigators together with one Lamin Bojang, the first accused person’s elder brother visited her in Ginack. She said during their visit, the police investigators informed her that the first accused, Dawda Bojang, is alleged to have murder Ron Ford. She added that the two police officers further told her to give them D10,000 to settle the case at police level.

Mrs. Camara reiterated that she gave Musa Mboob and Pateh Bah the said amount they demanded with the belief that her son would be released. “The two police did not honour their promise” she told the court.

She added that she handed over the said D10,000 to Pateh Bah in the presence of her late husband, Karafa Darboe, Mbemba Bojang, Lamin Bojang and Omar Bojang.

She told the court that she knew the first accused is involved in an alleged murder case at the time Pateh and Musa visited her in Ginack. She said the D10,000 belongs to her and it is part of the proceeds she got from her business. “Dawda Bojang never told me that he has a friend call Ron Ford and I did not know any Briton call Ron Ford,” she stated.

Mrs. Camara revealed that in 2002, the first accused was resident in his own compound that in Kerr Serign, but she did not know how he acquired the said compound he claim belonging to him. She added that Dawda Bojang was staying with some friends including Peter, but she does not know his nationality.
