Armed Forces have climbed to a joint fourth position on the First Division league table with 14 points after a 1-0 win over newcomers, Sea View in their play-off match at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium on Friday.
Armed Forces still have one more game-in-hand to play and could claim the second position if they can win the fixture against Gambia Ports Authority on Tuesday.
Both sides currently share the same points at joint fourth position, making Tuesday’s fixture, which will also mark the last fixture in the first-round, a tie-breaking encounter.
Wallidan are the current league leaders with 18 points, only one point ahead of second position holders, Real de Banjul.
The Bakau trio, Steve Biko, Africell/Sait Matty and Bakau United remain glued to the relegation zone, hoping to renew their fight for survival when the second-round fixtures resume on Saturday, May 19, 2007.
