Gambia Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) on Friday claimed the 2007 NISA Football trophy after beating NAWEC in a well -contested final at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
However, the two best teams in the NISA tournament couldn’t get the back of the nets in the 90 minutes of the real battle.
The first half was marked with equal opportunities for both teams while the second half was dominated by GCAA.
Both teams had the chances of scoring but could not utilise their opportunities due to lack of concentration.
At the end of the game referee Saul Touray called the teams for the penalty kicks.
GCAA finally beat NAWEC 7-6 on penalty kicks and claimed the title.
GCAA received a giant trophy and cash prize of D10, 000, NAWEC while NAWEC as runner-ups were awarded a trophy and D8, 000.
Police as 3rd place winner went home with D6000 and Fire Service emerged as the most discipline team in the tournament.
The final was attended by the Hon. Speaker of the National Assembly Fatoumata Jahumpa- Ceesay, the President of NISA and Chief of Defense Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces Brigadier General Lang Tombong Tamba and a cross section of Managing Directors, Directors, Chief Executive Officers.
