Gambian Fans in USA Move to Toronto

Tuesday, July 3, 2007

Despite the absence of Scorpions Fan Club members in Toronto due to denial of entry visas netted on them by the Canadian Authority, the Gambia National U-20 team would not be lonely as hundred of Gambians in United State of America, yesterday, moved to Toronto to give a helping hand to the Darling Scorpions.

According to the President of GFA, Seedy MB Kinteh, Gambians in America have organised themselves in order to cheer the boys in their World Youth Championship debut.

Mr. Kinteh revealed that with the absence of the Scorpions Fan club members, Gambians both in America and Canada would be stepping in the shoes of their Gambian brothers to give moral support to the team.

Meanwhile in another development, some members of the Scorpions fan club headed by the President Bai Jobe, yesterday, were working on plans to talk to the players live in Toronto.

According to Bai Jobe the objective of the move is to give their support to the team despite being thousands of miles away from each other.

"We want to tell them that the absence of the fans and the journalists should not stop them of performing their national duty and this situation should be an encouraging factor for them," Bai Jobe revealed.

He added that the other message they want to put across to the team is that all the fans are with them in mind and prayers.

"We are also working on modalities of coming together to watch the match," Bai concluded.
