Wednesday, September 26, 2007

As part of his contribution to the development of Gambian Football, Kabba Ceesay, Gambian FIFA players’ Agent, is on the verge of building up a working relationship with a group called Wasserman Media Group (WMG) in other to seek marketing opportunities for Gambian players.

We hereby reproduce the full statement from Mr Ceesay:

“I am trying to build a working relationship with a group called Wasserman Media Group (WMG) in other to seek marketing opportunities for our players and other areas for the development of Gambian football.

This group is a leading soccer representation and marketing agency worldwide and they are dedicated to the pursuit of marketing opportunities for their clients. They are also committed to building a unique strategic plan for the overall career management of each individual athlete.

A team of experienced industry leaders will work together to fully execute and maximizes a strategic path to success. WMG enable their clients to focus completely on the sport by providing a full service support team and they eliminate the guesswork thus allowing the athlete to focus on performance.

Steven Gerald of Liverpool, one of their clients had this to say about WMG. “I believe WMG is number one in the representation business. They have represented me all my career and have been a great source of strength and support to me. The professional advice I have received in relation to my off the field activities has ensured that I have been able to focus on the task at hand (that is my on the field performance)”.

Another client Jamie Carragher of Liverpool also commended WMG as saying, “I joined the WMG because of their great reputation and they never let me down. Top representation is really important and I would always recommend that young footballers get professional advice. For me there is only one option, WMG”

WMG represented top players globally. In the premiership they are representing Chelsea’s Shevchenko, Liverpool’s Steven Gerrald, Jamie Carragher, John  Riise, Man United West Brown, Ji Sung Pack and Sir Bobby Charlton, New Castle Allen Shearer and Michael Owens, Sunderland Dwight York, just to name but a few.

There core activities include among other things contract negotiations, legal services, marketing and endorsement programmes, and post career management.

My connection with these season professionals came during the FiFa World Youth cup when one of their representatives called Kingsley Pungong contacted me in relation to interest they shown in Pa Modou Jagne.

From there after we continue to bridge the gap by close communication on daily basis.

We have so many good projects for Gambian football and I think as time goes we would be able to deal with them one by one with the collaboration of the FA and Ministry for youth and sports.

Am presently working on the logistics to invite them for a days working visit so as to make their presentation to the football authorities in the country”.
