If the glowing tributes Musa B Suso, the President and Chairman of Suso Promotional Foundation, got last Saturday from the youths of Sukuta during the extraordinary meeting of the foundation were anything to measure the full worth of a man, then he really measured up. During the highly - interactive event, which was characterized by backslapping attendees, attendees took turns to shower a litany of praises on him for his selfless services to humanity. The first to take floor was Momodou Jallow alias MJ, a childhood friend to Suso. In his thought-provoking address, MJ described Musa B Suso as a complete gentleman of note, while calling on Gambians to emulate him for his contributions to nation building.
According to him, Musa is a real patriot, a Good Samaritan, a popular guy and a man of the people. “As I know Musa since childhood then I’m in a better position to assess him. Musa is has a natural fame and he is a gifted leader. He came to prominence long before he joined politics. He is very good at organizing people, I can even vividly remember during our childhood days he was our natural choice as leader. This is because he has respect and love for everybody. His humility, good grace and open friendliness has endeared him to many people in this country and beyond. It is based on this that the youths of Sukuta named their foundation after him because they believe that there is no other person deserving that accolade than Musa Suso,” he said.
Dawda Ndure, a brother in law and friend to Musa Suso, informed the audience that Musa is a peacemaker, development-oriented person and forward looking guy. He noted that Musa has always associated with people of various age groups, adding that Suso has no iota of arrogance or pomposity in him.
“He has been making his mark felt at all levels of society. Since he was released from Prison he remained calm, focused and patriotic. He has contributing to the happiness of people and anyone who is doing that there is a great reward for the individual. My message to every Gambian is let us support the Suso Foundation because it promotes development and empowers the youth. There is no doubt that when they get the support of the people they will succeed in their efforts to empower the youth of this country.
Also speaking on the occasion, Lamin Cham alias Tage said that Musa is just like a father to him, noting since 1994 he has been working collaboratively with him. “ He was the very person who first took to me to places like Gunjur and Brufut on promotional drives, making me known as a DJ. I founded level brothers and sisters association, which turned to become Suso Foundation; because when we heard that Suso was given a presidential pardon we decided among ourselves that we had to adopt him as our honorary father. Musa has not only distinguishing himself in the political arena but also in the area of youth empowerment. We are praying for him to live long because he has taken many youths from obscurity to a livable life.
