The remarkable Africell Dream House soap-opera came to a conclusion last Friday, in Brufut Gardens, when the winner was declared in dramatic fashion. There were three final constestants and it fell to the Guest of Hounour, Mustapha Njie, of Taf Construction and builder of the Dream House, to declare the winner.
The winner, drawn out of the jar containing the three names, was Ahagie Badgie, a policeman on his sick bed at the RVTH. There was great rejoicing in the gathered crowded as Mr. badgie’s condition had won the heart of the public during the competition. Mr. Badgie was of course unable to collect his price in person, but his emotional brother, wife and children were at hand to rejoice and thank Allah the almighty.
The two runners-up, Mrs. Ida Isatou Secka and Mrs. Sophie Jammeh did not leave empty handed.
Africell’s new boss, Mr. Badara Mbye, handed each of them a cheque for D50,000. Mr. Mbye also gave us Africell’s new slogan, “Africell Dega! Dega!” which apparently translate as “Africell True! True!”. Well, for the three winners today Africell has indeed been “Dega! Dega!” Africell has climbed the mountain, where do you go from here?” asked our MD. “We will build another mountain and climb it!”, came Africell’s Sadi’s answer.
