At least 22 Gambian youths involved in illegal migration were arrested on Tuesday at the Amdallai Boarder by officials of the Gambia Immigration Department.
The youths were later transported to the Immigration Department in Banjul, where they were screened.
Contacted on the story, Chief Superintendent Olimatou Jammeh Sonko, the public relations officer (PRO), of the Gambia Immigration Department, confirmed that the illegal migrants were picked up at the Amdallai Boarder, after they were stopped and handed over by the Senegalese security. She said the youth were arrested along some other Senegalese young people.
PRO Jammeh-Sonko also revealed that the illegal migrants will be released, after undergoing the screening process.
