Gambian Wrestlers to Leave for ECOWAS Championship Today

Five Gambian wrestlers and coach Omar Jeng will today leave Banjul for Niger to attend the second edition of the ECOWAS wrestling championship from the 26-29 of this month.

In an interview with Pointsport yesterday the President of The Gambia Wrestling Association, Matarr Jarjue, said the Gambian wrestlers are well prepared for the championship noting that very good wrestlers have been selected for the competition.

The wrestlers representing the country are Boy Bambara, Ma Foday Sarr, Bakary Jarjue, Burama Jarjue and Omar Jeng.

It could be recalled that the last ECOWAS championship which was held in Senegal was won by Senegal and Niger came out second.
