Jollof tutors, one of the leading higher institutions of learning, in collaboration with Association of Business Executives (ABE) over the weekend organised an award ceremony to recognise the outstanding performances for its former students.
The colourful ceremony, which brought the Jollof Tutors ex-students, cross – section of dignitaries as well as parents, was held at the institute’s ground along the busy Kairaba Avenue.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Daniel Oboh, Principal Jollof Tutors, said the day is set aside to award and recognise outstanding students of the institution in their various fields of study.
According to him, this was not the first time for the students to be awarded, noting that it is geared towards encouraging the students. He pointed out that at Jollof Tutors the quest for excellence is always on top of the agenda, urging the students to keep up the momentum.
For his part, Mr Alhagie Mamadi Kurang, Chief Executive Officer at Jollof Tutors revealed that over 500 students have successfully completed ABE courses, adding that ABE qualification is recognised world wide as a fast employment opportunity.
He expressed his institution’s resolve to continue contributing its quota to national development especially in the area of education. He commended the Ministry of Higher Education and the National Training Authority for their continued support. “Since the inception of Jollof Tutors, we have trained more than 5000 Gambians and non Gambians alike in the area of Information Technology and thank God that we also offer all professional courses,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Mr Martin Bucklin, ABE Chief Examiner, said ABE is a globally recognised qualification that easily earns one both national and international employment. Certificates of merit were presented to outstanding students.
