Over D45, 000 Raised from Operation Congo Boxes

The Gambia Football Association (GFA) have collected only D45,062.75 from the boxes, which were placed in all over the Greater Banjul and Western Division.

The aim of the donation boxes was to get financial support from the general public for the Gambia National U-20 team on their way to the African Youth Championship in Congo.

This money was collected from 21 boxes placed in strategic points in the Greater Banjul and the fundraising show held by Gambians in the United Kingdom led by Anna Njie, Njock Malick and Lamin SM Jaiteh.

Gambians in the UK raised 600 pounds equivalent to D31,800, one Alhagie Modou Sosseh also donated D3,000, the University of the Gambia (UTG) came third on the donation table with D2,833.

Commercial Seaport Drivers are on the fourth position with D2,763 and 4 Season Restaurant also contributed D615.
