Real de Banjul have moved on top of the GFA First Division league table after a narrow 1-0 win over Gamtel FC in their Sunday match played at Banjul Mini-stadium. It was Real de Banjul’s second win in two matches reflecting a promising start from the Banjul giants under their new Senegalese coach Ndoye.
Elsewhere, Steve Biko fought a tooth-and-nail stalemate match with Armed Forces on the same day at Serrekunda East Mini-stadium. While it was Armed Forces debut match, it was Steve Biko’s second matching that all ended in draw. Steve Biko has impressed in their last two matches but their striking force is far from expected as evident in two draw matches.
Week Three fixtures resume tomorrow when Hawks take on Biko in their first league match at Banjul Mini-stadium. Ports Authority will also have their first taste of the season when they face Sea View at Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.
