...take on Guinea tomorrow
All the invited Gambian foreign-based professionals have finally trickled in town, ahead of tomorrow’s African Nations Cup qualifier against Guinea, at the Independence Stadium, Bakau. Over 14 professionals, alongside some home based players are currently in camp at the Paradise Suites Hotel, awaiting to take on Sylli Nationals of Guinea in the keenly-awaited match tomorrow.
The arrival of skipper Jatto Ceesay on Wednesday, alongside midfielder Sefo Soley and forward Ebou Sillah saw the Scorpions camp reached full-house.
The earliest to get into the country were Assan Jatta, Mustapha Jarju, Musa Bajaha, Lamin Conateh, Dawda Bah, Abdoulie Corr, Azziz Corr, Pa Dembo Touray, Njogu Demba, Kamal Ndow, Edrissa Sonko, Mustapha Sarr, Pa Modou Jagne and Pa Saikou Kujabi.
Ousman Koli, one of best the defenders in the on-going league is also in camp, alongside Lamin Colley, Joseph Jabang, Abdourahaman Conateh and Baboucarr Sey.
Meanwhile,Observer Sports visited coach Alhagi at his Paradise Suite camp yesterday to sample out his state of preparedness, ahead of tomorrow’s match, but the caretaker coach refused to meet the press.
“The coach authorised us not to allow anyone, including journalists in the camp. So, nobody is going inside,” a security officer attached to the team told Observer Sports yesterday at Paradise Suites Hotel gate.
