In what could be described as a real gesture to boost sport in the country, particularly volleyball, eight girls from Hampshire in the UK have donated a range of items to Bakau Upper Basic School. The girls, aged between 8 and 9 years old, have donated a volleyball post and gear to the school under the leadership of Mrs. Sally an employee of the MRC. The support was raised in the UK through a fundraising effort. A presentation ceremony was held at the school grounds in Bakau to mark the donation.
Speaking to The Point the head teacher of the school Mrs. Anta Sammeh expressed her sincere gratitude for the gesture and her delight at receiving the donated items.
