The head coach of the 2008 GFA super cup champions GPA, Mr Ebrima Cham Joof, said that despite being the youngest coach in the first division league, he can handle the Ferry boys.
Ebrima Cham Joof, Alias Lukeh, revealed this to Pointsports sports in a special interview at the Friendship Hostel, Independence Stadium, Bakau. “We are well prepared for our game; the team is intact and the players well focused”. We are intensively prepared; we train both in the morning and afternoon to get ourselves ready for the return leg.
“The only injury worries are Abdou boye and Furmus Mendy, who will not take part in the return leg owing to injuries sustained in the first leg in Banjul, and that is why he was not featured in the super cup finals.” Furmus Mendy is ill and not feeling good, but Sanna Nyassi, Ousman Jagne and Abdourahman Dampha, are recovering from the knocks they sustained in the super cup final. “But nevertheless we have a good squad; the players are united and that shows how determined the players are; they work very hard in training, to make sure that we win our tie in the return leg encounter. “I am very confident in our return leg because the team is in good shape and we are ready to fight”. He said the team have nothing to lose and that they were going all out to make sure they win our game by the help of God.“ Mr Joof said “It is a big challenge for me and am looking forward to taking that challenge, and with the help of our players, I am sure we can make it.
Coach Joof reveals that the life in the camp is very enjoyable as both players are like one family and working very hard.
He further thanked his technical staff, and the management of GPA for the support that they give him. And without their support then things will not work as usual.
He then praised the team fans for their support . “ We must say a big thanks to our fans for the support they give us any time we play”.
“We tell them to be patient and pray for us; we promise that by the help of God we will qualify,” he stated.
