Medina Basic Cycle School held its annual inter house Athletics competition at its school ground in Wassu, Niani District, North of the Central River Region.

Various events were competed for, ranging from field to track events.

After exhausting the events, Blue House emerged winners and collected a trophy. White House were the runners up.

Mr Demba Kongira, sports master of the school in presenting the trophy to the winners spoke at length on the importance of sports, adding that apart from physical fitness, sports is an income generating activity for many.”

According to him, all those professional sports men and women we see on television, started at the same level. He urged the school children to continue to strive and excel to become outstanding athletes for their country.

For his part Mamadou S Kanya, Principal of the school, commended the house masters and all those who contributed in making the event a success.
