Counsels Cause Delay in Cocaine Case

Monday, November 19, 2007

The absence of the state prosecutor and the defense counsel in a cocaine case currently before magistrate Mbai was last week an obstacle to the progress of the trial that was supposed to proceed on Thursday.

Muhammed Condeh and Ansu Dukul were apprehended at the Banjul International Airport two years ago and in ‘possession’ of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Muhammed was allegedly found in possession of 4kg and 480g of cocaine whilst Ansu was allegedly found with 4kg and 460g of the same substance.

However, their cases could not be heard on Thursday as adjourned because counsels Lamin Jobarteh and Merley Wood were not present in court.
