Seven International Rotary Clubs have jointly donated a Toyata Hi Lux Pick-up, costing US$22,562, for the Sisters of Notre Dame in Jarra Soma, aimed at easing their missionary and educational works.

The seven Rotary clubs: Roatry Clubs of Banjul, The Gambia, Bad Driburg, Germany, Harrow, England, Mantes-La-Jolie, France, Palma-Almudaina, Spain, Saronno, Italy and Vilvoorde, Belgium, jointly funded the purchase of the vehicle.

The vehicle, which was recently handed over to the Sisters was made possible by a Matching Grant from the Rotary Foundation that supports humanitarian service projects, jointly sponsored by Rotary clubs from two or more countries or districts. The Rotary Foundation has over the years supported many projects in The Gambia.
