Baba Jobe Appears in GTB Claim Case

Thursday, June 7, 2007

Baba Jobe, the former National Assembly Member for Jarra West currently serving a ten-year prison term after being found guilty of economic crime, yesterday appeared before Justice Haddy Roche of the Banjul High Court. Mr. Jobe’s appearance is in response to an ongoing civil claim filed against him by Guaranty Trust Bank.

The bank has been claiming the sum of D7m from Baba Jobe, being the amount of money he allegedly stood grantor for.

The plaintiff’s counsel filed a motion before the court, contesting the suing of Baba Jobe as, according to him, his client was not the right person to be sued.

Hearing continues on 12 June 2007.
