In a show of solidarity, Alhaji Sulay Jobe, a prominent Gambian businessman trading in textile, has donated 40 crates of soft canned drinks towards the one-year anniversary of President Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh’s HIV/AIDS Breakthrough and other successful treatment programmes on January 17.

Dr Tamsir Mbowe, director general of President Jammeh’s treatment programmes, who is also the director of Health and Medical Services, took delivery of the gift, on Friday, at the Department of State fot Health and Social Welfare, Banjul.

For Alhaji Sulay Jobe, every Gambian owes the president a debt of gratitude for the positive changes his leadership has brought to the country, as the business community has been gaining a lot from that.

He felicitated the president on the anniversary, describing his knowledge as a gift from Allah. He called on members of the business community to support the president.

Receiving the gesture, Dr Mbowe stressed that the anniversary is a worthwhile cause, as it is a remarkable achievement in the history of medicine. He told the ceremony that President Jammeh’s cure has been proven by the medical and laboratory results.

“It is really worth celebrating. Diseases like HIV/AIDS were though to be incurable. The achievement has been recorded in the history book of medicine.”

Dr Mbowe called on all Gambians to converge at the July 22 on January 17 to rejoice the day.

Badara Jobe, son of Alhaji Sulay Jobe also spoke at the ceremony.
