Six Nigerians Returned to Mile II

Tuesday, January 8, 2008

Six  Nigerian nationals were on Thursday of last week returned to the State Central Prison in Banjul following the absence of some of the defense counsels from court.

Amanchu Okafor, James Nicholas, Samuel Nwaiwu, Clement Okafor Francis Paul, Edeh Anthony and Obozor Malacky were sometime last year arrested at the Banjul International Airport on suspicion of attempting to smuggle cocaine out of the country. The men were alleged to have concealed the various quantities of the drug in their stomachs.

Their case resumed on Thursday but it could not proceed because some of the suspects could not have their counsels in to represent them. The case would now resume on Thursday of this week.
