Bansang Alkalo in court

Saiba Darboe, Alkalo of Bansang Town in the Central River Region together with Yerro Sey, on Wednesday appeared before the Travelling Magistrate Amadou Baldeh in Bansang, the duo were charged with cattle theft.

According to the particulars of the offence, on or about March 22 2007, at Sareh Modou village, 16 cattle heads were found in the second accused person’s possession, being the property of Sareh-Njobo in Cassamace Saiba Darboe is being tried on charges of conspiracy while Yerro Sey, is being tried for conspiracy and stealing a property found under his possession. The duo pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to them. At that juncture, the court remanded both accused at Janjangbureh Prisons.

The case was adjoured to April 23. Prosecutor Corporal 1260 Colley represented the IGP.
