Youths,women and Yai kompins of Bijilo, in a resopnse to President Jammeh’s call to Operation Clean the Nation.
On Saturday turned out in their large numbers to clean the community of Bijilo.
Speaking to the Daily Observer, shortly after the exercise, Hon Seedy SK Njie, nominated member of National Assembly expressed delight with the turn-out of residents of Bijilo noting that it is a fundamental duty of every citizen to clean his or her environment.
He hailed President Jammeh’s efforts in developing the nation and advised the residents of Bijilo to keep up the momentum. He said, health should be every one’s priority.
For her part, Ya Nyakassi Jallow, Senior Yai Compin at Bijilo, described the clean-up excercise as a good move towards improving the health conditions of people in the country. She commended the President for initiating it
She thanked Captain Tumbul Tamba, Hon Seedy Njie and other Yai Compins for mobilising people to attend the clean-up excercise.
Modou Jah, Youth Leader at Bijilo and Aji Maram Jobe, Yai compin of ‘Taku Legaye’ group at Bijilo, advised the residents to keep up the good work and show their loyalty to the Gambian leader. However the group appealed to the President to assist them with dust bins in the market area.
Kawsu Sanyang Public Relation Officer of the National Patriotic Students Association (NAPSA) and Jabou Dampha, NAPSA’s Adviser, who also attended the exercise, commended the residents of Bijilo for the good work.
