Abdoulie Sosseh, former Vice- President of the Gambia National Transport, Agricultural and Industrial Workers Union (GNTAIWU) was on Tuesday, cross-examined by Police Prosecutor ASP Camara, in a forgery case, presided over by Magistrate John Njie of the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Mr Sosseh is accused of forging the union’s letter head and membership card.

Continuing his cross-examination, ASP Camara reminded the accused that he (Sosseh) had told the court in the last sitting that he was ‘wrongly’ alleged by the union.

Mr Sosseh, who responded in the positive, insisted that instead it’s the executive of the union that should be alleged and charged.

He informed the court that he was part of the executive, when he was again questioned by the Prosecutor.

On the minutes of the union’s meetings, Mr Sosseh maintained that all the minutes are intact, and kept by one Assan Bojang.

On how many branches of the union were supplied with the membership cards, Sosseh disclosed that four branches have been supplied and other groups that subscribe with the union.

He said the old membership card was rejected by the union, because it was useless, saying that this was approved by a huge membership, some of whom have been absent in the union’s activities.

At that juncture, Magistrate Njie, adjourned the case to Monday, October 22nd for continuation.
