The on-going criminal trial involving Lamin Cham UDP Campaign Manager for Serrekunda Central was on Tuesday deffered to Tuesday 31 October, by the Presiding Magistrate Buba Jawo of the Bunding Magistrates’ Court.
When the case was called, the accused Lamin Cham and his Counsel Lawyer Ousainon Darboe were absent. Police Prosecutor Sergeant 772 Samateh told the court that the accused do appear in court, but the reason of his absence in the court was unknown to him.
He then applied for an adjournment. His application was granted by the Presiding Magistrate Buba Jawo.
It could be recalled that Mr Lamin Cham, is standing trial on two count charges for obstructing and acting in a manner which breached the peace in the community, contrary to Section 230 of the Criminal Code and Section 9 of the Public Order Act.
According to the particulars of the case, Mr Cham obstructed one Buboucarr Jabbie, an IEC Presiding Officer for Bundung Borehole Polling Station (33A) during last year’s National Assembly elections.
On count two, Lamin Cham was charged for acting in a manner that breached the peace on the election day, at the same location.
