The Brikama Magistrates’ Court had found one Serign Joof guilty of defiling a 12-year-old girl and he could now spend 10 years in jail if the verdict delivered by magistrate John Njie is any guide.

Serign was undergoing trial for raping the 12-year-old girl in Sambuya village just few kilometres outside Gunjur in Kombo South.

The convict was also ordered to pay a compensation of D20, 000 to his victim
