The weekly draw for the ‘darling of the fans’ initiative is to be taken to Brikama for the first time since its inception to raise funds for the Canada campaign.
This was announced at the joint officers’ mess on Monday 21st May 2007, during the usual weekly draw.
According to Pa Modou Faal, the sports presenter at the GRTS TV and moderator of the programme, the idea came as a means of de-centralising the event in order to get a better turn-out since people in Western Region are very good in patronising the GFA. He added that the Scorpions fan club will also embark on a one-day sensitization within the Greater Banjul area so as to remind the public of the 105 text or call number with either Gamtel, Gamcel or Africell.
This week’s draw will also be subjected to a change in voting as Tijan Jaiteh (15) seems to be in the second position instead of the usual Sainey Nyassi (14).
Tijan’s appearance for the first time came as a result of frequent votes from 9944444 and 7977777 believed to be owned by Modou Torro Darboe whose texts were said to be as many as 887.
