Following Two-week Ultimatum

The protracted trial of the UDP-sponsored candidate for the 2006 legislative elections, Lamin R. Darboe, and co-accused persons resumed on Tuesday at Brikama Magistrates’ Court following a two-week ultimatum.

Dissatisfied  by the snail’s pace manner at which the case was progressing, the Brikama Magistrates’ Court sometime last month issued an ultimatum, outlining that the prosecution speed up the case or else.

In what could be described as an apparent adherence to that court order, the prosecution, led by Cpl. 413 Sanyang, on Tuesday called the first witness so far called to testify in the case since its mention some 12 months ago.

The first prosecution witness, Morro Bojang, gave his account of the case which revolves around assault and other cognate charges.
