Hearing in Drug Case Soon

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court in Western Region will on Thursday begin proceedings in the trial of Musa Badjie on suspicion of drug trafficking.

Musa was last Thursday arraigned before magistrate Edrisa E.F. Mbai for being allegedly caught in possession illegal drugs.

According to the case file, Musa was in November of last year intercepted with 5kg and 720g of marijuana at Bullock police post in Foni.

He denies the allegation but was refused bail for according to section 43 (e) of the Drug Control Act, anyone caught in possession of illegal drug for purpose of trafficking should be denied bail. Musa was consequently placed under custody till the resumption of his case later this week.
