The man, who many taxi drivers at the Bundung Borehole garage look up to for direction, is currently in trouble with the laws of the land.
Mamady Saidy, the Chef de Garage of Bundung Borehole, was last Thursday charged alongside two others for allegedly violating the Laws of The Gambia.
Mamadi, Ebrima Janneh and Essa Sanyang were late last week charged with assault and battery as well as causing wilful damage to property.
The trio, according to court records, on 16 April of last year, assaulted one Mbye Joof by beating him all over his body thereby causing him actual bodily harm.
The records also had it that the trio, on the aforementioned date and at Bundung Borehole garage, wilfully damaged the windscreen of Mbye Joof’s car but when the charge sheet was read and interpreted to them in Mandinka, they all denied the allegations.
However, to enable them gain their liberty in the meantime, each was granted bail at the sum of D10,000 and must produce a Gambian, who must fulfil the bail conditions, as surety.
The case, presided over by magistrate J. George, resumes November 6.
