Mr. Modou O. Njie, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Department of State for Forestry, has been charged with two counts of publishing false information and impersonation, The Point can confirm.

Hearing on the matter has been scheduled for today, 10th March 2008 at the Bundung Magistrates’ Court.

Mr. Njie was on Thursday, 21 February 2008, arrested and taken into custody by the police, and has since remained in detention.
