Wednesday, March 5, 2008

The Haggai Institute Alumni Association, Youth with a Mission in collaboration with Medical Research Council (MRC) is to provide a week long medical outreach in the country.

This was revealed by the Coordinator of the programme, Dr. Abraham Alabi of MRC in an interview with The Point recently.

The medical team, he said, will include 16 medical doctors from US including a Taiwanese Cardiologist by the name of Dr. David Huang as well as 10 other medical doctors from Nigeria. He further reveled that the team will bring along medical equipment worth $2 05,000 to be donated to the Department of State for Health and Social Welfare. The medical team will also visit police stations, prisons and schools.

Meanwhile, The Point is reliably informed that the Medical team will today commence their work at the Jammeh Foundation for Peace Hospital in Bundung. The medical corps who will be providing free medical care to Gambian will be handling different cases. This gesture is once again a manifestation of the cordial relationship between The Gambia and Taiwan, the US and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
