Farato Football Academy in the Spot Light

Farato Jift Bri Bri football Academy is among numerous football academies set up in a drive to develop youth football in the country.

The Academy has a total number of 250 talented players drawn from Brikama, Busumbala, Lamin and Farato.
It attracted children from 8 to 17 years of age who are divided into four categories.

Mr Alhagie Saidykhan a senior coach of the academy said the academy, which was launched last year, was founded on the 16 of November 2004.

He said initially the academy was self-sponsored adding that recently the academy has won quarterly support from Swedish based Pa Fofana to kick start its training sessions.

Head Coach of the academy Sam Jaiteh underscored the importance of sports adding that the academy has produced many talented footballers who are now playing in prominent clubs in the country including among others Ham Ham FC.
