The Set-Setal exercise to clean the nation was undertaken in various towns and villages in the Central River Region (CRR) recently. This included the administrative headquarters in Janjangbureh.
Speaking on behalf of the Governor of CRR, the Deputy Governor Momodou Katim Touray thanked all those who participated in Set-Setal. He described their efforts as a very positive response to the call made by President Jammeh for all Gambians to come together to clean the environment. He stressed the significance of the monthly cleaning exercise noting that it will reduce the mortality rate.
The Chief of Janjangbureh, Bakary Jam Jawo, applauded the impressive turnout of civil servants at the event. He called for more active participation from people in the efforts to clean the environment and said that cleanliness is a vital part of healthcare and one of the Governments primary objectives to reduce malaria. Similar exercises were held in Wassu, Bansang and Brikama.
