Govinda & Sons Sues ‘Defaulters’

Sunday, December 2, 2007

Govinda & Sons (G), a construction outfit, is seeking redress through the law courts for restitution of monies owed to it.
The group has instituted suits against some of its customers for ‘failing’ to perform their part of contracts after the former had fulfilled theirs.
Binta Jaiteh, one of those customers that were sued for defaulting in paying the construction company, had admitted liability for owing Govinda & Sons (G) D120,000 for construction of a house. She was, therefore, ordered to pay D120,000 and a court cost of D5000 to the outfit before the end of November.
In a related development, the construction company has filed another suit against one Emmanuel Charles Quist for allegedly refusing to pay D161,201 to the company after a house was built for him and keys handed over. He denied liability and the case continues.
